E. Armata is a fourth-generation produce wholesaler based at the Hunts Point Cooperative Produce Market in the Bronx — the largest wholesale produce market in the world. For over a century, we’ve supplied wholesale fruits and vegetables to NYC grocers, restaurants, and institutional buyers across the tri-state area. Our temperature-controlled facility handles berries, tomatoes, melons, mushrooms, herbs, salad greens, tropicals, and seasonal specialties — sourced from growers across the country and delivered fresh daily. SQF-certified, on-site at Hunts Point, and trusted produce suppliers to some of the region’s largest buyers.
Over the last century, E. Armata has prospered as a leader among produce distributors in the tri-state area. Our History
IT ALL STARTED WITH A LEMON…
Our Founder Erasmo Armata came from Sicily in the late 1890’s through Ellis Island as a poor immigrant. Erasmo settled in Manhattan and frequented the Fruit Auction in lower Manhattan (later the location of the World Trade Center) where he purchased lemons and sold them out of a burlap bag he carried on his back as he walked the streets of Manhattan.
As one of the longest-established food distributors in NYC, we deliver fresh fruit and vegetables across the five boroughs and the wider tri-state area every day.
